BRAND STRATEGY
YOU KNOW WHAT'S NOT ALREADY WORKING
Marketing is running, but nothing compounds. Every campaign starts from zero. The last video looks nothing like the one before it, because a different freelancer made it and nobody gave them a brand to work from.
You've priced agencies. The good ones want a retainer that assumes a marketing department you don't have, and most of what you'd pay for is coordination between people who have never met your product.
So the work falls to whoever has time. Someone in-house is writing copy between other jobs. Decisions get made in Slack and nobody writes them down. The brand exists, but only in a few people's heads, and it drifts a little every quarter.
What's missing isn't hours. It's a brand marketer who knows strategy and creative.
THREE WAYS WE CAN WORK TOGETHER
ADVISORY
Strategy, positioning, and a monthly working session. You keep executing in-house and I keep the brand pointed in one direction.
Best for teams with capable people who lack a senior voice in the room.
Includes:
-
Positioning and messaging framework
-
Monthly strategy review
-
Async guidance on work in progress
-
Feedback on creative before it ships
EMBEDDED
Everything in Advisory, plus creative direction on the work itself. I write the brief, direct the execution, and review what comes back, whether your team makes it or I do.
Best for brands running consistent campaigns who need someone accountable for how they land.
Includes everything in Advisory, plus:
-
campaign planning
-
creative briefs
-
direction of internal and external teams
-
quarterly roadmap
EXECUTIVE
Full ownership of the brand, including production. I run creative the way a CMO would, and the work gets made.
Best for brands scaling fast enough that creative has become the bottleneck.
Includes everything in Embedded, plus:
-
produced assets
-
full campaign execution
-
vendor management and delivery.
HOW IT WORKS
1
CALL
Thirty minutes. You tell me what's happening and what's stuck. If I'm not the right answer, I'll say so.
2
DISCOVERY
Before any recommendation, I do the work of understanding the business. Positioning, audience, competitors, and what your brand is actually saying today versus what it means to say.
3
PLAN
You get a written strategy. Positioning, messaging, and a clear read on what to make and in what order. It's yours whether or not we keep working together.
4
EXECUTION
You get a written strategy. Positioning, messaging, and a clear read on what to make and in what order. It's yours whether or not we keep working together.
BRAND DISCOVERY
Most companies aren't ready to name a tier on day one, and they shouldn't have to.
Brand Discovery is a fixed scope engagement that ends in a document you own. Positioning, value proposition, messaging pillars, audience definition, and a competitive read on where you actually sit in your market.
It's the thing every campaign should start from and almost nobody has. Once it exists, the rest of the work gets faster, cheaper, and more consistent, whether I make it or somebody else does.
Most clients use it as the starting point for an ongoing engagement. Some take the document and run. Both are fine.
CREDENTIALS
Twenty-five years directing and producing creative, including work for Netflix, 20th Television, Disney Channel, IMAX, and FOX Sports, alongside campaigns for growth-stage brands across health, tech, consumer, and B2B.
Network standards, applied to companies that usually can't reach them.
